Absolutely awesome piece of amplifier history from 1959! The Magnatone 280 is an original 50 watt blues power house equipped with 2-12” Jensen speakers and a duo of 5” tweeters to boot! However, the crowing jewel of this clean original amp is its true stereo pitch-shift vibrato! This monster does everything from Buddy Holly cleans, the careening blues of Howlin’ Wolf, to the raunchy stab of Robby Krieger, the ace axeman of legendary L.A. band The Doors! Don’t hesitate to own such a clean and original example of early rock and roll heritage!

The amp is really clean for its age, but it does have a few issues that inherently come with a 60 year old amp. You get a little rattle and hum when you turn the amp up all the way and push the speakers. There are a few missing knobs (see photos) and the original ungrounded power cable is still on the amp, so the amp is being sold “as-is”. Comes with original cover!
